Even during the downpours, the mood was so high. I genuinely think Dougie had a huge role to play in that. His manner was whimsical which brought levity to temper any overwhelming emotions walkers may have been feeling by the finish line. And he was so person focused, making sure he had names and team names right, along with other information he could find, making sure everyone felt uplifted and valued. You could easily see the difference between people’s spirits as they approached the final stretch and as they crossed the finish line – he enthused everyone. Myself included! Absolutely top notch.
